Pacific Electric Inland Empire Trail

Trail Description

The trail is first class with traffic control at major street crossings. The ride is easy with slight elevation gains. The total distance from East Avenue in Rancho Cucamonga to N. Claremont Avenue in Montclair is 13 1/2 miles.

Cucamonga Portion

Start on the trail at East Avenue next to the 15 fwy. Parking is available at the Park & Ride next to the 15 fwy on Baseline. The trail crosses East Avenue 1/2 block north of the Park & Ride. The current improved trail ends at Amethyst about 5 1/2 miles east. Elena Park and Central Park border the trail with restrooms available.

As of January 2010 the 3 miles between the Cucamonga portion and the southern portion of the trail is currently under construction with concrete already poured from Grove extending over Foothill to the Cucamonga Creek Trail junction.

Route to the southern portion of the trail

Continue south on Amethyst to Baseline then east on Baseline to the Cucamonga Creek trail just west of Carnelian St. Follow the Cucamonga Creek trail south until it meets up with the Pacific Electric trail under construction. Follow the Pacific Electric trail south over the bridge at Foothill to N. Grove.

The southern portion of the Pacific Electric trail picks up at N. Grove. Travel on the trail though Upland and Montclair to N. Claremont Avenue where the trail ends.
